India's First Exclusive Traditional Board Games Showroom Opens in Mysore

  • by Rahul Singh

April 2026 marked a quiet but significant milestone for Indian craft heritage. On the same day as the inauguration of the 11th edition of Kreedaa Kaushalya, Ramsons Kala Pratishtana opened what is believed to be India's first and only exclusive showroom dedicated entirely to traditional board games.

Located at Ramsons Bombe Mane, Nazarbad, Mysore, the showroom features approximately 27 traditional Indian board games across a range of craft forms — Kalamkari fabric from Andhra Pradesh, Lambani embroidery from Karnataka, Solapur Dhurrie weave from Maharashtra, hand-carved wood, cast metal, and woven fabrics from across the country.

Each game is a functional, playable board — not a decorative replica. Many are handmade, one of a kind. The showroom also features a section of wooden educational toys for children.

A gaming parlour runs daily between 4 pm and 7 pm, where visitors can sit down and actually play the games with experienced instructors on hand. Entry to the showroom is free.

The board games are also available online at shop.houseoframsons.com and ship across India.
