Bombe Mane 2025 — Ramsons' Annual Dasara Doll Exhibition Returns

  • by Rahul Singh

Every year as Dasara approaches, Ramsons Bombe Mane in Nazarbad transforms into something unlike anything else in Mysore. Hundreds of dolls — from clay and paper machie to wood, cloth, and metal — are arranged on stepped platforms called Bombe Mettilu, recreating a tradition that has been alive in Mysore homes for centuries.

The 2025 edition of Ramsons Bombe Mane was inaugurated in August, continuing a tradition that Raghu Dharmendra (art historian and designer, Ramsons Kala Pratishtana) and R.G. Singh (Secretary, RKP) have built over more than two decades.

This year's display featured dolls sourced from artists across the country — Yakshagana dancing dolls in paper mesh, Ayodhya Rama Lalla figures, Mysuru Karaga clay sets, and the ever-popular Pattada Bombe, the royal couple that is the centrepiece of every Dasara household display.

Dolls from Ramsons Bombe Mane are available year-round at both our Nazarbad store and our flagship store at Ramsons Handicrafts, opposite the Mysore Zoo.
