Singam | Silk Embroidery

Singam is a traditional two-player alignment board game with a deceptively simple premise: be the first to bring all four of your counters into a straight line. Each player receives four counters and the battle begins immediately — first placing pieces onto the board, then shifting them one point at a time in a tightening contest of positioning and anticipation.

There are no dice, no cowries, and no captures — only the quiet pressure of a board that fills up fast. The opening placement phase is already a game within a game, as both players simultaneously try to build their own line while blocking the other's. Once all counters are placed, movement becomes the weapon. A player can also win by trapping all four of the opponent's counters with nowhere left to go — making defence just as potent as attack.

This set is handcrafted in Silk Embroidery, with each board stitched by artisans onto silk using thread and needle work that gives every line and point a lustrous, tactile quality that no printed board can replicate.
