Twenty Eight Sepoys is a traditional war board game played across Southern India and Sri Lanka, with roots that run deep into the subcontinent's history — board patterns matching its grid have been found carved into the stone floors of ancient temples across South India. Two players face off, each commanding an army of 28 sepoys, with one goal: to eliminate every last soldier on the opposing side.

The game moves quickly but punishes carelessness. Soldiers advance one step at a time along connected lines, but a single lapse in attention can be devastating — one well-positioned sepoy can leap over multiple enemies in a single turn, capturing them all in a chain. That ever-present threat of a sweeping multiple-capture keeps both players alert from the very first move to the last.

This edition is handcrafted in Silk Embroidery, a tradition celebrated for its fine, luminous threadwork. The tactile richness of the embroidered surface gives the board a warmth and presence that makes it as much an object of craft as it is a game.
